Upon my arrival in Smithville I performed the cooling evaluation and found everything operating properly on the system at this time. I spoke with the customer about Reme halo and surge protection. It’s just not something that is in the budget for him at this time. When he renews he would like his cool eval to be first next year and the heat eval last.

Today I arrived in Smithville and met with the homeowners. Customer made me aware the home is for sale and a respective buyer had the home inspected, the inspection report came back with a remark concerning downstairs back hvac system (Labeled unit 1) had poor performance of 10 degree temperature differential. Also, requested to change filters while completing system checks. I replaced all 4 Honeywell 20x20x4 filters and dated them. Old filters were trashed in customers bin at their request. I began my system checks, found unit 1 had fault 41 Blower Fault. I investigated the code and found the motor has failed by removing from unit and following Carrier guidelines on diagnostic of ECM 2.5 Motor. New Motor has been ordered and Mrs Stephanie will be reaching out to get scheduled once we receive parts, repair is covered under 10yr P&L.
Today I arrived and met with Mike, I completed the evaluation of hvac today. I evaluated systems primary and secondary for both performance and safety. I washed both outdoor systems using water, treated the electrical panels with electrical insecticide, I also flushed the indoor water removal systems on both units. Today I also completed a repair for the secondary system, I installed a power protection system, replaced voltage enhancement system, installed performance enhancement system, I also replace the high voltage liquid tite whip from the service disconnect to the unit due to wires being visible and corroded/weathered. At this time both systems are operating well, left primary and secondary systems in auto and following their schedules.
Today I arrived and met with the Janda’s, such a beautiful home and property. Absolutely awesome people as well, with so many grand babies! I loved the photos thanks for having me out. Anyways, I completed the evaluation today at this time, I evaluated performance and safety, doing so I flushed indoor water removal system and treated, I also washed outdoor unit using water and treated cabinet with electrical insecticide. I recommended customer have indoor system sanitized and have a bacterial prevention system installed. At this time we went over options, customer would like the email of options including photos and eval of today, moving forward they would like to think me seriously of having the prevention system when the unit gets replaced in the future. Upon departure left system on and cooling at 77, currently 75 indoors.
Upon my arrival in Smithville and spoke with the customer about their concerns on the noise condenser. Customer stated it’s always been loud but seemed to be louder this morning. I listened to the system operate and check all of the amp draws and voltages on the system. Everything was within manufacture specifications and the system sounded like a system normally would, there was nothing out of the ordinary. While I was checking the system out I did find that the voltage enhancement system was low and the voltage distribution system was starting to get chard/pitted. I spoke with the customary about what I found and recommended having them replaced to prevent future break downs. He elected to only have the voltage enhancement system replaced today. I performed the repair and tested the system and found it to be operating properly at this time. I did speak with the customer about our maintenance program and asked if it’s something he would be interested in joining again.
Today I completed a cooling evaluation in Smithville inspecting system for performance and safety. At this time the water removal system has been flushed, outdoor unit washed, and left options of maintenance that is recommended at this time. Please email over options.
Upon my arrival in Smithville I found that the high voltage short circuited inside the air handle causing everything to burn up. This will all be covered under the warranty that the customers purchased. Will need to schedule a return date to replace the auxiliary heating system, main control board, air movement system, wiring harness, possibly the thermostat and fresh air control if they were damaged from the short circuit, we won’t know if there were damaged until the main repairs are made. Will also need to verify that the float switches were not damaged as well. Need a new surge protector for the indoor system and it needs to be placed in a different location from where it is now. I checked the outdoor system and did not find any issues from what the eye can see. Customer would like to have window units installed to keep cooling until we can return and perform the repairs.
Upon my arrival in Smithville the system was still frozen, while I was here I verified that the air movement system was properly working and checked the static pressure across the coil. Both were good. Will need to schedule a return to complete the diagnostics. With the coil still being frozen I can not verify if the pressures are adequate or not. We will not be charging a second service charge when we return.
Upon my arrival in Smithville the customer had stated that the mini split in the shop area quit cooling well a couple weeks ago. I started performing the evaluation on that system first and found that the system was low on refrigerant. Performed a leak search and found that the heat transfer media coil has a leak on it. I was unable to complete the Evaluation for the mini split system. I went over the different options for repair with the customer and he is going to have to think about what he wants to do with the system. I advised not running the system due to how low the refrigerant levels are and the potential to damage other components within the system. Left the unit turned off at the breaker and let the customer know I did so. Performed the cooling evaluation on the main split system for the home and found everything operating properly at this time. Spoke with the customer about Reme halo and surge protection. It’s not something he is interested in.
Upon my arrival in Smithville I attempted to pump the system down but the refrigerant pressure control was sealed shut. I closed the king valves off at the condenser and recovered what was in the line set. Removed the faulted refrigerant pressures control and installed the new one. Replaced the inline filter dryer then purge and pressures tested the system with nitrogen. After the pressure test was good I evacuated the nitrogen and put the system into a vacuum. It would not come down to a proper vacuum due to moisture in t the lines. I purged the system several times with nitrogen before the system would come down to a proper vacuum. After reaching the proper vacuum I broke vacuum with refrigerant and started to test the system. Added 1.5 pounds of refrigerant back to the system to bring it to proper operating pressures. System is operating properly at this time.
Today in Smithville I verified concern of upstairs not cooling. Found indoor unit on, outdoor unit has a failed voltage enhancement device, I noted the refrigerant circulation pump wires were laying across copper rubbing. Presented options and with approval I replaced the failed voltage enhancement system, replaced voltage distribution system, replaced all wiring connections for the parts, secured the rubbing wires, installed, performance enhancement system, and rather installing surge protection I offered to replace the voltage enhancement system on the downstairs outdoor unit as preventative and customer liked that idea. After repairs and washing of outdoor system, upon start up I found running pressures not adequate. The pressures had indicated indoor system refrigerant pressure control was stuck closed. I brought my concerns forth and customers agreed to replace the failed pressure control system, took 10% deposit and processed parts ordering. Customer expects dispatcher
Performed the cooling evaluation in Smithville on a attic furnace system. Found everything operating properly at this time. The person who let me into the home asked about a treatment that will dispense into the drain line on its own. I went over the iFLO pro and he will be talking with the home owner about it.
Today in Smithville I found outdoor system was not operational. I had discovered that the electrical components had experienced a short from ants. Ants were inside the voltage distribution system, and inside service disconnect. After reviewing options with the customer he approved and paid for the HD3B package. With that in mind I replaced the voltage distribution system and replaced the wiring terminals that followed. I also verified other electrical components see photos for details. After repair I checked starting power and found system using higher power than normal, customer did not want to upgrade packaging at this time to receive the performance enhancement system to alleviate the power consumption concern. Upon departure system is cooling and set to 74 currently 80 inside.
Upon arrival I met with Daniel in Smithville, as we came to the thermostat in concern it was most definitely blank, with that being said I removed it from the wall, thermostat contained no common wire it’s 18/5. Batteries were leaking, I checked and only found 1v output on double A’s. Customer provided new batteries, I verified system has 28vac at thermostat housing. Plugged back into housing and system began cooling. Checked and found 20 degree cooling split, at this time customer did not want to receive options on rewiring indoor system for common voltage, nor did he want to investigate maintenance program. Moving forward customer paid the service charge and thanked me for my time.
