Yesterday, I serviced a Lennox gas furnace. I cleaned the burners, replaced the air filter, and adjusted the thermostat. The homeowner reported the heat is now evenly distributed throughout the house.

Upon my arrival in Giddings I found that the water removal system was clogged causing the float safety switch to trip and shut the system down. I spoke with the customer about his different options for repair and he chose to go with HF3E. I installed iFlo pro with 6 month drain pan solution, redid the thermostat wiring to make it more uniform, installed new SS1 & SS3 float switches, redid the drain line and added a vent after the p-trap. I tested the systems operations and set the iFlo pro up to find out that the iFlo was not getting external power and was only running off of battery power. I checked proper voltage coming to the iFlo and it had 26 volts being supplied to it. We will be returning to install and new head and verify it is working properly.

Finally, I measured the temperature differential across the system to ensure it was cooling efficiently.
upon my arrival in Giddings I found that The water removal system was backed up tripping the float switch causing the thermostat to go blank. Customers son had wired in a Honeywell thermostat thinking there was an issue in the thermostat. I spoke with the customer about installing the original carrier edge thermostat back on the system to allow for the dehumidification and they chose to move forward with it and signed up on our maintenance. Diagnosed faulty electrical components in 4-ton split system in Giddings. Multimeter testing revealed blown 30-amp fuse and damaged contactor. Replaced fuse and installed new 40-amp contactor. Inspected wiring for signs of overheating or corrosion. Tightened all electrical connections and applied dielectric grease to prevent future oxidation. Verified proper voltage across terminals and measured amperage draw on compressor startup. System now operating within manufacturer specifications, restoring efficient cooling.
Today, I performed the annual air conditioning maintenance. I replaced the existing air filter with a new MERV 13 pleated filter to ensure proper airflow. Using a Fieldpiece SC660 clamp meter, I measured the amp draw on the compressor and condenser fan motors, confirming they were within the manufacturer's specified tolerances. The contactor contacts showed no excessive pitting or burning. I brushed the outdoor condenser coils clean of any debris. I checked the refrigerant charge using superheat and subcooling measurements, and it was at the proper level according to the unit's charging charts. All electrical connections were tightened, and the thermostat was verified for proper operation. The air conditioning system is now ready for efficient cooling performance throughout the upcoming season.
