Upon my arrival for a heating service, I performed a performance check on a 5-ton split system. I found the voltage distribution system was pitted and causing resistance. Customer approved replacement of the voltage distribution system. I also washed the outdoor coil with water and verified the heat strips were engaging during emergency heat mode.

Further diagnosis revealed that the voltage enhancement system was weak, and the voltage distribution system had burned contacts. Troy approved a full renovation of the voltage enhancement system. This service included: • Replacing the voltage enhancement system • Replacing the voltage distribution system • Installing a hard start kit • Replacing damaged wire terminals • Cleaning the outdoor condenser coil • Performing a full performance and safety test Following these repairs, the system is now operating properly.
