Upon my arrival I spoke with the customer about their concerns with the systems cleanliness. I checked both systems out and found they are both covered with bacterial growth on the inside. Given the systems age I advised against having cleanings performed due to the risk it could have on the systems operations. Customer would like to have a comfort specialist come out to quote system replacements for upstairs and downstairs as well as relocating the downstairs indoor unit.

We inspected the indoor unit then spoke with the customer about options for clearing the primary drain line. Customer agreed to sign up for the annual maintenance plan. Customer approved repairs, we cleared the drain line and added drain solution to the primary and secondary drain line, and also installed an inline access port. The system is operating properly at this time.

Arrived in Elgin for AC Maintenance, Upon our arrival we spoke with the customer about their concerns with the HVAC system not cooling. Performing our diagnostics we found that the system had a communication fault between the indoor and outdoor units. We inspected both portions of the system and did not find anything wrong with the voltages coming in or the communication wires. We reset the system and put it into test mode. After running the system for 30 minutes we found no issues with the system at this time. Moving forward the son is going to monitor this and inform us if this happens again.

We cleared and treated the water removal system, washed the outdoor condenser coil with water, cleaned the electrical cabinet and treated it with electrical insecticide spray. While performing the evaluation we found the system to be low on refrigerant and dirty. After performing a leak search we found a leak on the indoor heat transfer media coil. Spoke with the customer over the phone and will be emailing over options for repairs.

Arrived in Elgin for AC Maintenance, Today I arrived and met with Reed. C/s when he came home yesterday between 3-4 pm the indoor temperature was 81 and set for 72, he removed the air handler panel and shortly noticed it was frosting over. Not too sure if the outdoor unit was on or off at that time. Also mentioned that they attempted to turn it on later in the evening and it began frosting within 5 minutes. I investigated concerns, I found indoor system has a fixed metering device and a 4 ton straight cool outdoor, I checked pressures and found them to be high possibly overcharged however when comparing data to the chart on outdoor unit I found it was within range + - 15psi. With that being said I allowed system to operate in cooling mode for the duration of my visit checking pressures continually, pressures never reached freezing nor did it get close to HPCO
