I found the upstairs system low on charge, downstairs system showing low on charge but after making adjustments found the refrigerant pressure control to be faulty, downstairs system showing stairs coil has bacterial growth and the mini split needs to be cleaned. I spoke with the customer about my concerns on all 3 systems. Customer approved to have the upstairs system charge adjusted and would like to compare the pressures at the next cool checkup. Upon my arrival I checked into the concerns with the iFLO pro not being lit up. Performing my diagnostics I found that the iFLO has failed, the system had all the proper voltage coming in but was not bringing any lights on. I installed a new one under warranty then went the proper setup process. After completing the set up I verified it was dispensing the right amount of solution into the primary drain pan. While on site I also snaked the drain line both directions to remove and build up that occurred during the down time of the iFLO.
When we arrived we turned the system on and everything came on properly and ran properly. We tested all the electrical components, refrigerant charge, temperature split and everything was working properly and even brought down the temperature 2 degrees during the hottest part of the day. One thing we found is that the emergency drain pan was full of water. There are no float safety switches on this system which do recommend. I spoke with the client and she said we were good to remove the water and clear the drain lines which we did. I also added a vent after the trap to help the water flow better out of the system. I did let the client know that this system is 18 years old and it could be having issues when working all day long in the heat but as of right now it’s working properly.

After further inspection, it was found that the unit was completely void of refrigerant. Homeowner approved leak search.
