Upon my arrival I performed a 6 month checkup on one heat pump system. I found everything to be operating properly in both the performance and safety aspects of the equipment. I spoke with the customer about iFLO pro that was presented at our last visit. They said they may consider sometime down the road but do not wish to move forward at this time.

Checking pressures at the outdoor system I found that the pressure were showing some discrepancies. I added 1lb of R410a and found that it was just slightly low on refrigerant. I did verify there were no signs of any leaks on the indoor and outdoor systems. The slight lack of refrigerant could be over the duration of us checking the charge on the system. We will monitor this and if at the next cool eval it is showing low again we will do a more in-depth leak search on the system.

Travis arrived within the time frame promised and was thorough in diagnosing the problem.

Upon my arrival I spoke with the customer about his concerns with the mini split system not cooling well. I turned the system on and found that it was low on refrigerant. I leaked searched the coil and had no indications of a leak. I then checked the line set and found that the flare fitting is leaking inside the wall. This will be covered under warranty by Centex.

I spoke with Alan about Solaris by Ultravation and for now he asked that we email him the pricing. Upon departure left system operating in cooling mode set for 75.
Today I arrived and met with Billy. Concerns from a home inspector, stating humidity was 69%, and the 2 front rooms were 6 degree difference. I first began by verifying system performance, system performs well with a 22 degree differential. As I began investigating concerns I checked the thermostat reading and it stated indoor humidity 69%, I verified using my psychrometer that the indoor humidity at the thermostat was actually 57-58%. The thermostat will need replacement due to improper reading. I also checked temperature differential between both front rooms and found them relatively the same within .5 degree difference, I believe the inspector may have used a laser temperature gun and pointed it at the register in ceiling because the temperatures I acquired using a psychrometer are in specifications. While in attic I also found a fresh air ventilation controller that is remaining open 100% of the time allowing hot humid air to enter the home 100% of the time, due to home being insu

I removed the faulted, indoor air movement system, installed the new air movement system, replace the main control board, new voltage conversion system, redid wire terminals, pulled 20 foot of new thermostat wire, had to install a new comfort control system due to pulling the one off the wall and wire ripping away from it. Added a new insulation to the air handlers door and then ran a performance and safety testing on the system. Found that everything is operating properly in both the performance and safety aspects of the equipment.

I performed a diagnostics and found that the voltage distribution system faulted on the low voltage side causing the inline fuse to pop. I had a few concerns today of unit #2, it’s 20 years old, the outdoor unit is rotting, performance is very high and is borderline freezing and the system consumes almost 200 amps at time of start up. I was unable to get an accurate read on the pressures given it being a cooler morning. We will make sure to monitor this as we move forward with the evaluations.
